  • All behavior and training services require the participation of the pet’s human family for the greatest success.

All Training Services

When you first reach out to me, we will discuss any immediate management necessary for the safety of you and your pet/s.

Dog Management Document

You will be asked to complete a behavior questionnaire and return it within 48 hours of your initial consultation. When filing out your behavior questionnaire,  avoid terms like “dominant” or “aggressive”. Instead, describe what your pet is doing in as much detail as possible. The more complete a picture you create for me of your pet’s behaviors, the better a behavior modification plan I can create.

We start with an initial consultation to review this information. This consultation is usually held virtually but can be held in-person if you prefer. After your initial consultation, I will send you a behavior modification plan, estimate of the number of sessions needed to reach your goals, and a price quote.

All clients are asked to learn about how your pets communicate. Here are some great resources:

Board and Train

Clients who are interested in board and train services should still expect to be involved in the training of your pet. An animal’s family has the greatest influence on their behavior. We start with an initial consultation, as many family coaching sessions as needed for your pet to be comfortable with me, and then you should plan to sign up for as many additional family coaching sessions as needed for you to be comfortable applying the behaviors your dog has learned, to your everyday life.

Dog Boarding

Please complete the Pet Boarding Questionnaire and return it within 48 hours of leaving your dog in my care.

Policies

  • Payment is due at the time services are scheduled.
  • Fees are non-negotiable.
  • The client is responsible for the cost of any equipment necessary for their pet’s training.
  • Refunds are only given if I overestimate the number of consultations needed to reach your goals or if I cannot meet with you as planned. Refunds are not given if you choose to stop training for reasons outside of my control.
  • Sessions canceled with less than 24-hour notice will be re-scheduled on a case-by-case basis.
  • Sessions must be used within 6 months of purchase.

A dog’s family has the greatest influence on their behavior.  No matter what training package you choose, you will need to learn the training techniques and practice with your dog for the best results.  This is usually much less time consuming than pet guardians realize.  You also may need to make changes to your dog’s home environment, which is also usually not difficult.  I may ask you to discuss your dog’s behaviors with your veterinarian to rule out physical causes for them.  I may also recommend changes to your dog’s nutrition, exercise routine, and sleep schedule as all of these are factors in behavior.

Your family, behavior consultant, and veterinarian are all a team who together can help your pet have the fullest life!
